The Summit – 4th & 5th Grade
The Summit is the weekend gathering of children and volunteers where we aim to strengthen our relationships to each other and to God.
Our goal is to deepen preteens’ understanding and faith in Jesus by discipleship, relationship, and an emphasis on family. We seek to actively live out what Paul writes in Colossians 1:1-14, emphasizing Jesus, as Paul does in verses 15-23. In The Summit, we want to help those things happen.
To deepen and empower - that’s our goal. Kids need to know that not only does Jesus love them, but he has empowered us for mighty things; even when those mighty things seem small. Plus, we who teach and lead them can learn from their hearts and minds as well.

We have some foundational Scripture that shapes what we do around here; Matthew 13 and Colossians 1. In Matthew 13 Jesus tells the parable of the sower and teaches his disciples about being rooted in the right soil; not amongst rocks, or on a path, or with thorns. In Colossians 1, Paul the Apostle writes to the new church in Colossae about their faith and how encouraging it is to him. He tells them he prays for them to grow in the knowledge of God and in the knowledge of his will for their lives. To assist with this goal we have developed a monthly program called the Lodge.
